Kristin M. Persson, Psy.D. is a clinical psychologist licensed by the state of California (License #PSY23525). She is also registered with the State of Florida to provide telehealth services to residents of that state. (Registration #TPPY1601). She has practiced psychology for over 15 years, specializing in the treatment of depression, anxiety, life transitions, relationship work, and domestic violence. She works with individuals ranging in age from 5 to 90.
Dr. Persson holds a certification in the practice of clinical hypnosis by the American Society for Clinical Hypnosis. Dr. Persson is a member of the American Psychological Association (APA), American Society of Clinical Hypnosis (ASCH), and the Clinical Hypnosis Association. She serves as a small group facilitator for the monthly HIE (Hypnotic Idea Exchange) meetings hosted by the North Carolina Society for Clinical Hypnosis.
Dr. Persson received her Doctor of Psychology (Psy.D.) degree from the California School of Professional Psychology at Alliant International University in San Diego, CA. Her graduate studies included training and experience in treating domestic violence offenders and victims, severe mental illness, group therapy, couples work, and art in therapy. She also has experience in forensic psychology, having worked at the RJ Donovan Correctional Facility in San Diego in an outpatient program, in the Administrative Segregation Unit, and in the mental health crisis unit.
Dr. Persson was awarded a B.A. degree from William Smith College in Geneva, NY and completed a certificate program at Harvard University’s Graduate School of Education. She has had “many lives” prior to becoming a psychologist and has worked in public relations, fund raising, and in Hollywood doing costume work in film, television, and theater.
